Let me first start out by stating that this is not directed to anyone in particular that I may know. If it does apply then by all means take it with stride and try to correct the situation as you see fit. This is an open letter to the men that may find me irresistible or rather that would like to have “relations” with me. This is to the men that may have the courage to approach me whether online, at a party, on the street, or where ever and want to have sex or just be friends. Please Do Remember:

1. I’m an adult. I may not look like it in the face but I am. I pay bills and I take care of only one person in my life that is myself with the few exceptions of friends that may need my assistance. I do have an open hearts.

2. I will not change my beliefs or morals for you. I don’t take away from the fact that I’m sexually explicit in my behaviors and you may not even know much about me but what you see on facebook and other social networks. I’m a individual and even with my sassy tongue and deemed promiscuous behavior, I do have rights, feelings, beliefs, and morals. These are things that help me digest this madhouse we call society. So please don’t whine, beg, or try to convince me to follow other wise. It will not work and also I will feel disrespected at the least. No Bueno.

3. I may be silly at heart however I’m not naive in anyway. My head is very hard, so please just for your sake and mine stop beating me in it. I rather you keep it “real with finesse” then to try your attempt at game and try to get over on me. I’m SINGLE and you don’t owe me any explanations and vice-verse. I don’t have any right to ask you any questions about your love life and you don’t have any rights to my love life. If you want my advice or just want to share some of the stress you maybe going through by all means do so and I may do the same because before anything I want us to be friends. I’m not here to school you but I’m here to inform you that my struggle as a woman has left me some what with a cold heart hint the name LaKRUSH HEARTS. I do try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but LOVE is something I will never beg for or even ask for from any man or woman. If you have it for me then thanks but truth be told I will have to learn on my own terms to give it back. If you don’t have the patients for me then let’s just keep our distance or not cross paths at all. I say these words because some of these things that men attempt are only accepted by women who are blinded by LOVE in my opinion, So save your time and energy.

I asked myself a question without using google search When was the last time you heard of a positive story about a black woman in the media within the last year? Unfortunately only one story came to mind and it was a heroic tragedy when the pregnant mother of 12 children used her body as a shield to protect children (that wasn’t her own) from getting shot after school let out in Brooklyn NY. Then I asked myself the opposite question of a negative story about black women in the media? well the stories wouldn’t stop flooding from reality tv like Love & Hip-Hop to the mother of 15 children who blamed the system for not helping her, and let’s not forget the political bigwigs who are attacking the first lady for being well rounded (pun intended) and the list keep going on and on.

Well what inspired these questions was an article that I read from one of my Facebook friends timeline about the new movie Red Tails called George Lucas’s Red Tails- No Black Women by ProudChocolateGirl from her Black! Not White Dipped In Chocolate Blog. Now the article was informing us that the story Red Tails which open this weekend in theaters is about the Tuskegee Airmen. The black men whom was ordered to fight in World War II while experiencing segregation. However in telling this story which should be told there was something missing and that was Black Women. The black wives, mothers, sisters, aunts, and supporters of our black men in combat. The kicker to me was the love interest I mean the cast of the movie had only two women the lead female character and her mother. Now I wasn’t born in this era and I personally don’t know anyone of this era. I do know this that without the strength, support, passion, compassion, nurture, and love from the black woman there wouldn’t be a black man figuratively speaking of course.

I’m so disappointed in my community and myself for letting this continue to go on. Why are we being erased from our story? We are always putting others before ourselves and we get left out of everything. We also help with the progression of this country not just in history but right now. However we are only portrayed in the media as bitches, ignorant, promiscuous, and always angry. I mean everything from that is negative about our personalities to our looks are put on the front page. I honestly feel helpless about the whole situation. Is there away to get beyond this? well the only answer I’ve come up with is just to limit my media intake.

You wonder how is that possible if you are on the internet everyday? Well it’s simple I limit my resources for entertainment. I don’t watch the television which is someone else programming. I watch my favorite shows and movies via the internet. Then I can watch what i feel like at the time I feel like watching. I don’t own a radio at all. I support internet radio station and have my own. This gives me a diversity on programming from talk radio and musical programming. If there is a trending topic or story then I will go to a news site to get the details only. Now I can’t eliminate the real world out of my life so there are times that I do turn on the television or something but it’s very limited. Does this help with snything? I don’t think so but it’s just a personal preference of mine.

I don’t wanna see black people always portrayed in a negative light. It’s cray cray to me that we contribute to this country just like everyone else but yet the only thing that comes into focus is our misbehavior. Even entertainment that was meant for the black community have also subjected to pushing the black community in the negative light all in the name of entertainment. It may seem like I’m rolling off of topic but I’m really not. “I’m a black big beautiful woman” Do you know within that statement I find nothing to be truthful if I base my thoughts of myself of what the media portrays. I’m black which doesn’t count for nothing, I’m big which is just unacceptable on so many levels and I’m beautiful woman, yeah right the only thing being a woman is good for is birthing babies or being ignorant. No this is not self hatred. What this is my outlook of myself if I let the media dictate my train of thought.

If we do have someone in our light whom is doing positive things we dismiss it and focus on the negative. Why do we do this? Example we have a positive black woman in daytime talk name Oprah but we say she is a sell out and only focus on white women issues. We also have our first black first lady of the United States Of America but instead we focus on her wardrobe or her curvy physique. Every woman portrayed in the media is gold diggers, promiscuous, ignorant, and angry about everything.

I don’t wanna keep going down this self hatred road with the media. So I have my own media called Phone Fantasy Radio. We focus on dating, relationships, sexuality, intimacy, politics, and having fun. This year my goal is to develop Phone Fantasy Radio with positive outspoken shows that focus on issues that effect my community. By the way my community consist of all races. At the end of the day we all have issues and we all contribute to the progression of this country and the world.

Earlier today a friend of mine was talking about her current boyfriend. He is the father of two littler girls around the ages of 4 and 6. He was ordered by the courts to pay $600 a month in child support and he is currently going to court for owing  over $10, 000. I learned that both his mother and father have been together all his life and still are together. He doesn’t pay bills except his cellphone and he is a street pharmacist *wink wink* and inspired to be rapper. He has bragged on occassion to pocket $300 a night. Okay so my question Why not pay your child support?

Another situation a man got a girl pregnant at the age of 18 years of age and even married her. The marriage didn’t last long cause he cheated. When the divorce was finally over he didn’t take care of his child not one bit. His child walked up to him one day to ask for a dollar and he responded to the young child to ask his mothers new boyfriend. Next time the child seen his dad walking thru the parking lot of his apartment complex the child called out for him and the father walked away ignoring the child. The child at the time was between the ages of 3-6. Well now the father’s mother is taking care of him. So now the father gotta see him, well this past Christmas the child escorted his father to go shopping for gifts. The father brought plenty of toys and such for his other children but neglect to purchase ANY THING for his first child. The father owes over 20,000 in child support.

Okay we can go on and on with sad baby daddy stories however that’s not what I wanna do. I just wanna know the true reason why men don’t wanna take care of there children. Why can’t this epidemic be cured? Why is it okay to have these children and not okay to take care of them? Alright I wanna  ask a father and get a serious answer. Why are you… did you… or do you… treat your child like such? I mean it takes two to tango we know all that. I’m not at least letting these baby mama’s off that easy either. Why did you have you have unprotected sex? and when you found out that you was pregnant did you take in to consideration what the future may bring? Do you listen to your baby father when he said he was not interested in having a child? Did you think that it would all work out on it’s own? Well can’t dwell on the past but at the present this man is dening not only you but your child. Where do you go from here?
